DESCRIPTION OF SEMARANG LANDMARK

1) Lawang Sewu is one of the most iconic landmarks in Semarang. This building has a very unique architecture with a distinctive European style from earlier times. The main uniqueness of this building is that most of the doors are owned. If counted, counted to reach 429 pieces. That is why this building was later called Lawang Sewu. This building was built in 1904. In the past, this building was used as the headquarters of the Indonesian Repoeblik Railroad Department (DKARI) (now PT KAI).

This is a provincial mosque that was inaugurated by former president SBY in 2006. The Great Mosque of Central Java is not just a place of worship. This mosque was also designed for other purposes, including tourism. This mosque has a wide courtyard. In the courtyard there is a building like the Colosseum in the City of Rome.

Another interesting part of the Central Java Grand Mosque is a 99-meter high tower not far from the "Colosseum". The tower is called Al Husna Tower. The top floor of the tower has been designed in such a way as a viewing post to enjoy the view of the city of Semarang from a height. An elevator is available to make it easier for visitors to reach the floor. From the top floor of the Al Husna Tower we can take a peek at the activities at the Tanjung Mas Harbor jetty.

3) And the third Landmark , Blenduk Church is one of the buildings in the Old City area. The real name of this church is actually the GPIB Immanuel Church. Blenduk itself is a name given by the community which means dome. This building is one of the most iconic landmarks in the Old City Area.

With its characteristic white-painted building and brownish red dome, Blenduk Church is one of the interesting places in the Old Town of Semarang. Moreover, the status of this building is the oldest Christian church in Central Java. That said, the dome of this church is covered by bronze.
